Holiday Best

Expect Better.

Holiday Best is a UK based package holiday provider operating in a highly competitive, price driven market. While the business had built momentum through performance marketing, it recognised that attention alone was not enough to drive long term growth. To convert interest into confidence and bookings, Holiday Best needed a clearer, more distinctive brand presence. Fellow partnered with Holiday Best through a twelve month Brand Builder engagement to define a unifying brand narrative that could bring consistency across channels and support growth across peak trading periods. Our role was to shift the business from short term performance activity to confident, brand-led marketing that could build awareness, strengthen consideration, and drive bookings over time.

Our starting point was understanding where Holiday Best was losing momentum. Audits across social, email, and campaign activity revealed fragmented messaging and inconsistent visual expression, limiting trust and recall. Audience research showed consumers were actively seeking value, but also reassurance. They wanted holidays to feel simple, reliable, and worth looking forward to, not just affordable.

Category analysis highlighted a sea of sameness, with competitors leaning heavily on discounts and urgency. This created an opportunity to stand apart by reframing value emotionally, not just financially. These insights shaped a strategy focused on confidence, clarity, and expectation, positioning Holiday Best as a brand that could remove compromise from the holiday decision.

The challenge was not to shout louder in a noisy, price led category, but to sound more assured. Travel decisions are emotional, yet the category had reduced them to discounts, urgency, and compromise. We saw an opportunity to reframe value, not as cheap, but as considered.

Expect Better emerged as a deliberately simple provocation. A line that asked more of the category and quietly set Holiday Best apart. Creatively, we explored how small moments of everyday frustration could be contrasted with the clarity and ease of being away. The idea was not escapism, but elevation. Holidays as an upgrade to daily life. This gave the brand a confident point of view that could flex across destinations, seasons, and audiences without losing its meaning.

The creative system was built around restraint. In a category crowded with noise, we chose clarity. Copy was tightened to say less, but mean more. Headlines became declarative rather than promotional, allowing the idea to do the heavy lifting.

Visually, we leaned into destination-led imagery that felt grounded and real, avoiding cliché travel tropes. Layouts were simplified, creating space for the message to land with confidence. This minimalism was intentional. It signalled assurance, trust, and ease. The brand did not need to convince. It simply needed to show up consistently.

This approach allowed Expect Better to feel credible at scale, from large seasonal campaigns through to always on social, email, and B2B materials.

The brand platform was activated through two major seasonal campaigns, winter and summer, supported by always on creative across organic social, email, and content. Expect Better became the connective tissue between campaign bursts and day to day activity, ensuring Holiday Best stayed visible, coherent, and relevant year round.

Email marketing shifted toward narrative driven storytelling, while social content raised the creative bar and reinforced brand consistency. B2B sales teams were equipped with clearer messaging and supporting materials to improve distribution confidence. The result was a brand that felt more assured in market, converted attention more effectively, and delivered measurable impact across awareness, engagement, and bookings.
